Introduction[edit | edit source]

Developing knowledge and skills about business and practice management is fundamental to operating a successful rehabilitation business. For the success of a rehabilitation business the business owner and management should have a combination of clinical and business management skills. However, clinicians are often ill-equipped to to address business management topics[1] which could be attributed to a lack of consensus for business and practice management competencies for rehabilitation university graduates[2]. The skills required for business and practice management are different to clinical skills, and it is important for clinicians to be prepared for the additional skills required for the management of a rehabilitation business[3].
