Physiopedia Team,

I have started my teaching journey as an education coordinator and a chief clinical instructor at an orthopedic clinic with over 100 employees. My tasks were to facilitate our team's development, organize and present in-house and public lectures, mentor students and new employees. Soon after, I was pleased to accept a teacher-assistant position at the Dominican College Physical Therapy Program. I worked in classroom and cadaver laboratory settings for three years and was mentored by the senior faculty members. In conjunction with developing teaching skills, their mentorship allowed me to master interpersonal skills such as team communication and leadership. Shortly after, the program director offered me an adjunct professor position, teaching Biomechanics & Kinesiology. Teaching has been challenging and demanding but, most importantly, a fulfilling and rewarding experience. This year, due to the worldwide pandemic, the college made the switch to remote learning. Teaching a six-hour class online, I rapidly adapted to the distance learning environment, modifying my teaching strategies, integrating new technological advancements, and creating interactive student-centered content. In addition, I am pursuing a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy degree and a Manual Therapy Fellowship. Both programs are hybrid courses and possess a heavy online learning component. Taking didactic classes and conducting independent research with guidance through online mentorship allows me to examine the contrasting side. Education plays an essential role in my life, and I hope to influence others by striving to be a better student, an exemplary teacher, and a continuously developing clinician. My goal is to shape the next generation of physical therapists, creating knowledgeable evidence-based practitioners. Please refer to my resume for all my clinical and academic experiences. You can reach me at the email above, and I look forward to further discussing this opportunity.

Yours sincerely, Dr. Alexandra Kopelovich DPT, CKTP, CMPT, CSCS, OCS
