I am a physical therapist currently licensed in Texas (USA). I received my BS degree in Physical Therapy from West Virginia University in 1981. In addition I have Masters Degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling (1976) and Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Safety (1985). I am certified in two methods of functional capacity evaluation and am a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
I practiced as a physical therapist for a total of 18 years in the US Navy, US Air Force and several civilian positions. In 2001 I started employment in my present position as an Ergonomist at the Army Public Health Center where I evaluate equipment and work to identify risk factors and recommend interventions to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury. During this period I have also served as an Adjunct Professor teaching an ergonomics course at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
