I am a newly enrolled doctor of physical therapy student at Arcadia University (PA, USA). I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience at Kenyon College. For my senior thesis, I completed a mock proposal on modified constraint-induced therapy (mCIT/ mCIMT)for severe stroke patients. I am particularly interested in neurological applications of physical therapy (including spinal cord injury, stroke, and traumatic brain injury) as well as the developmental/ pediatric aspects of the field. I am passionate about knowledge of global healthcare (specifically, international collaboration in physiotherapy and involvement with member organizations such as WCPT). I completed the online Physiotherapy Management of Spinal Cord Injuries Course in June, 2014.

My experience is primarily in the inpatient rehabilitation and home care settings, however I also have an interest in outpatient neurological therapy, focused on vestibular rehab and Parkinson's disease. I am currently focusing my continuing education on non-pharmacological pain management strategies for chronic pain, particularly in pain neuroscience and patient education.

Though I am still developing my skills, I&nbsp;am not new to the Physiopedia community. I completed the online Physiotherapy Management of Spinal Cord Injuries Course in June, 2014, and I completed my initial volunteer training and yellow belt certification in April 2015. I have dabbled in additional courses since then. I continue to operate as a volunteer, and I look forward to contributing further and cooperating with physiotherapists around the globe.

My name is Richard, and I am licensed physical therapist based in the United States.
