I qualified as a Physiotherapist from Trinity College Dublin in 1995,  after first completing a degree in Natural Sciences , specialising in Physiology . Soon after graduating I moved to Japan to take up a position in Yokohama Rehabilitation Centre,  where I worked for two years . I then took up a position in  Yokohama City University Hospital , an acute hospital .  At that time , Physiotherapy in Japan was largely based in hospitals and rehabilitation  centres with few if any private practices . Seeing a great need  in the foreign community I then decided to set  up my own private Physiotherapy practice . About Me[edit | edit source]

I qualified as a Physiotherapist from Trinity College Dublin in 1995 after first completing a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Physiology. Soon after graduating I moved to Japan to take up  a position at Yokohama Rehabilitation Centre where I worked for 2 years in the Paediatric Rehabilitation department. At that time, Physiotherapy in Japan was largely hospital/rehabilitaion centre  based with few if any private practices. Responding to a great need within the foreign/ex-pat community I then set up a private Physiotherapy practice in central Tokyo. The practice  reflected the wider needs of the community and  included ante-natal and post-natal services, a scoliosis screening program for the international schools and an ergonomics consultancy service. After 5 very rewarding and fulfilling years I moved to London where I continued to work in private practice for over 4 years . Now after taking a few years  sabbatical  to raise my young family I am planning to return to practice with a renewed interest in Womens Health.
