I am a Clinical and Academic Physiotherapist from India. I graduated, Bachelors of Physiotherapy from Government Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, KK Nagar, Chennai, TN, India, which is the 2nd best Institute in Asia offering Physiotherapy. During my graduation i have been under clinical postings treating a variety of orthopedic and neurological patients. Our institute was the one which offers FREE therapy for CP kids since 1979. Slowly, I developed a liking towards rehabilitation of Stroke patients during my project which i took up in my final year of Graduation. My project involved the use of CIMT in recovery of sub-acute stroke patients. This gave an inspiration for me to do my specialisation thereafter in the field of Neurology as Masters in Neuro-Physiotherapy under Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai, TN, India. I have participated and won in Paper and Poster presentations of State, National & International Level. During my period of post-graduation, i worked as a Research Associate with my guide and worked in research projects on evidence based practice in PT, community ambulation of stroke patients, vestibular rehabilitation and cerebral palsy. In the due course of the time my research on "KAP of EBP among PTs" got international acclamation as it got peer reviewed and accepted for presentation at the EVIDENCE LIVE 13, an International conference, jointly organised by the BMJ and CEBM, University of oxford, UK. I have also received a Grant from BMJ and CEBM, University of Oxford for the above purpose. I have got trained in CEBM, University of Oxford on 1. Peer-reviewing a research paper 2. Teaching Evidence Based Medicine 3. Publishing a Research paper from eminent faculties of the Oxford University. Ever since my 1st year of stepping into my Graduation on 2006, i have been involved with treating patients who are paralysed and in painful situations and my journey has still not ended and i hope my entry into the PHYSIOPEDIA will still more be helpful for me in my personal and professional upliftment.
