Anatomical Movement[edit | edit source]

Shoulder flexion

Testing position[edit | edit source]

Patient is supine with knees flexed. Palm facing medially and thumb is up. To start the test arm is to be by the patient's side

Goniometer Placement[edit | edit source]

AXIS LOCATION STATIONARY ARM MOVEMENT ARM
middle of humeral head laterally parallel with the trunk in line with the mid line of the humerus (lateral epicondyle)

Expected Findings[edit | edit source]

Expected range of motion is 0- 180 degrees[1]
