I qualified as a Physiotherapist from Trinity College Dublin in 1995 after first completing a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Physiology. Soon after graduating I moved to Japan to take up a position at Yokohama Rehabilitation Centre where I worked for 2 years in the Paediatric Rehabilitation department. At that time, Physiotherapy in Japan was largely hospital/rehabilitaion centre based with few if any private practices. Responding to a great need within the foreign/ex-pat community I then set up a private Physiotherapy practice in central Tokyo. The practice reflected the wider needs of the community and included ante-natal and post-natal services, a scoliosis screening program for the international schools and an ergonomics consultancy service. After 5 very rewarding and fulfilling years I moved to London where I continued to work in private practice for over 4 years . Now after taking a few years sabbatical to raise my young family I am planning to return to practice with a renewed interest in Womens Health.

About Me[edit | edit source]
