About Me[edit | edit source]

I am a physiotherapist with clinical and research interests in the areas focuses on the development, testing, and translation of interventions and programs that promote optimal mobility-related function in older adults and individuals with stroke and other neurological conditions.

I currently on faculty as Assistant Professor at the School of Rehabilitation Therapy Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

My research work includes:

1)  Evaluation of the impact of the Oasis Program - a seniors-driven model of aging-in-place - on mobility, physical activity, socialization, and other health-related variables.

2) Exploring how therapeutic strategies such as such as instruction, feedback, guidance, and supervised and unsupervised practice impact motor learning and function.

3) Use of wearable technology as a tool for the measurement and promotion of gait and walking activity in rehabilitation populations.

4) Promotion of optimal acute and rehabilitation stroke care in low-resource environments with the Organized Stroke Care Across Income Levels (www.oscailstudy.com) research collaborative.

Education[edit | edit source]

I did my Physiotherapy training at McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada) and worked for many years with older adults and individuals with stroke and other neurological conditions in a variety of clinical environments.

I completed his PhD in Rehabilitation Science (McMaster University 2013) and post-doctoral training (UHN - Toronto Rehab 2015).
