Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory[edit | edit source]
- Founded by Stephen M. Haley PT, Ph,D, Wendy J. Coster PhD, OTR/L, Larry H. Ludlow PhD, Jane Haltiwanger PhD, Peter Andrellos PhD, 1992
- First pediatric assessment tool to assess function rather than development
- Based on an adaptation of the conceptual hierarchy of outcomes defined by the ICIDH, in 1990
- Has multiple variations which are translated into multiple languages and validated for multiple cultures
- Items are focused primarily on home-based activities; it was designed to examine what the child actually does in the context of daily life (activity) rather than to describe his or her impairments (body functions and body systems).

- Detect any functional deficit or delay, its extent and content area
- Evaluate individual or group progress in pediatric rehabilitation
- Create and evaluate programs in pediatric rehabilitation.
Intended Population[edit | edit source]
6 months to 7 year old whose functional abilities are lower than the same age group.
