About Me[edit | edit source]
I'm a physiotherapist from the beautiful land of thousand hills; Rwanda. I hold a Masters of Science (MSc) Degree in Physiotherapy, obtained from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa in 2010. I worked in different hospital settings and have a special interest in managing pediatric disorders and musculoskeletal injuries but I do also like raising awareness of the benefits of physical activity and health promotion in general.
I also believe that giving back to the community through outreach activities is the best way to empower people, specifically people with disabilities but also the poor in general.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to attend different international scientific conferences and congresses among which the WCPT congress in Africa (Nairobi, 2012) as well as in Asia (Singapore, 2015). I had a paper presentation for both of them and it was a lifetime experience one could ever wish for! I have been fortunate enough to work with great physiotherapists and mentors, which led me to co-write two published articles with them.
My Role at Physiopedia[edit | edit source]
I joined Physiopedia as a Volunteer in September 2020. Since then, I work with the Content Development Team. I create and review content on Physiopedia using evidenced-based literature.
As a physiotherapist part of this amazing team, it's a great opportunity to not only to keep my knowledge is up-to-date but also to challenge myself by developing and mastering writing medical content skills as well as gaining the confidence that will help me in the new orientation that I want to take as a Non- Clinical Physiotherapist.
