Introduction

Physiopedia is the result of voluntary contributions from global rehabilitation professions. The Physiopedia Awards Programme recognises and features the diligence and efforts of people who have made significant and impactful contributions to rehabilitation globally. These awards also serve to showcase the impact these contributions are having on the global rehabilitation professions, including but not limited to physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, prosthetic and orthotics therapist, rehabilitation nurses and physicians and all other rehabilitation specialists.

Anyone positively contributing to rehabilitation and/or Physiopedia can nominate a candidate, and in turn, be nominated. Awards are decided by the awards committee and are given each month (Top Candidates) as well as annually (Annual Awards Programme) in June.

The Annual Awards include both Internal Physiopedia Awards (for those directly contributing to Physiopedia, Physioplus or Physiospot) and External Physiopedia Awards (for those making an impact on rehabilitation as a whole). We welcome all nominations.

Criteria for nominations

The following criteria will be considered to determine award recipients:

• Quality, quantity and impact to rehabilitation professions;
• Quantity, quality and impact of the Physiopedia content contributions;
• Engagement with sharing Physiopedia activity including Physiospot and social media;
• Activity, creativity, leadership, and innovation;
• Engagement with Physiopedia Team;
• Demonstrated leadership and leading by example;
• Overall enthusiasm for the forward movement of the global rehabilitation professions.

Annual Awards

The awards, given annually, include:

Internal Physiopedia Awards

1. Top Contributor - The individual who has contributed the most to the content of Physiopedia.
2. Physiopedia Superstar - Outstanding contributions by an individual.
3. Best Physiopedia Project - Most impactful project in partnership with Physiopedia.
4. Social Media Impact Award - Includes contributions to Physiopsot and impact via social media.
5. Physiospot Superstar - Individual with the most posts and contributions on Physiospot.

External Physiopedia Awards

1. Physioplus Superstar - Individual who collects the most Physioplus points.
2. Best Project - Most impactful project within the topic of rehabilitation.
3. Outstanding Leadership - Individual that demonstrates great leadership as part of any rehabilitation project.
4. Rehabilitation Impact Award  - The contribution that has made the greatest impact on rehabilitation profession(s) and/or practice(s).
5. Innovation Award - Most forward thinking and creative contributions to a project or rehabilitation profession.
6. Global Impact Award - The contribution that has made the greatest impact on global rehabilitation profession(s).

Guidelines

• Please provide as much detail and examples for a nomination.
• Nominations are due by 15 June 2022 12:00 (noon) GMT in any given year.
• No self-nominations.
• Recipients of a specific award from the previous year are not eligible for that same award.
• Nominations are accepted for contributors who have served within the previous year.
• Once the nomination period has closed the selection committee will review the nominations and award recipients will be announced on the 1st July annually.

Physiopedia Monthly Awards (Top Contributors)

Every month one award is given to the top Physiopedia contributor, the “Top Contributor” Award. This award will take into account not just content contributions, but also any of the above-mentioned criteria including engagement, enthusiasm, creativity, leadership, and innovation.
